ABOUT ARTPRIZE

Artprize 2012 showcased ipad created art for the first time.  the video played in the store window.  It aroused a lot of curiosity.

about Judy

I was born in Grand Rapids Michigan and now splitting time between there and Marco Island Florida.  I am always moved to create something new.  Following directions, for me, is usually a last resort.    I grew up spending summers on the shore of Lake Michigan where I learned communal living, generational bonding, love of dogs and horses, water skiing, sailing and the beauty of nature.  I am a Christian and a Patriot.  Always needing some artistic outlet as a kid, I found knitting, sewing, drawing and my first love, the piano.  Fine art, portraits, digital and video arts, audio recordings and even some composition were added to the mix and are represented on this site.

I am an interior designer, wife, mom, grandmother.  We have a beloved boxer named Bogart, who is a therapy dog.   As a visual artist, I enjoy watercolor, oil, acrylic, and textiles.  Since the iPad came out, I have added digital portraits and the video formats showcased on this site.  As a musician, I play the piano in the common area of a Cancer Hospital, (so I guess that makes me a "lobbyist" of sorts), where I strive to create a warm, healing ambience for patients, visitors and staff.  My own recordings often work their way into videos as soundtracks.

I'm a fan of handwritten notes and I still sometimes pay for things with a check.
